Life Extension and Overhaul Services Modernization/Decommissioning

In many cases, upgrading and modernizing existing equipment is your best option because it reduces downtime and provides all the advantages of the latest technology in a cost effective manner.

Through MET’s Remanufacturing and Overhaul Center, we have complete in-house capabilities to remanufacture, overhaul, and retrofit old or obsolete circuit breakers, motor starters/contractors, and switches. Through MET's expertise, we can determine the most cost-effective approach for your equipment: overhaul, upgrade, modernize, or replace. These services can be performed for all key components of the electrical system.

MET works to maximize the useful life of equipment, but when it’s finally time to retire or remove equipment from service, we can help. We provide a range of services called for in decommissioning equipment. Whether the project requires partial decommissioning or completed decommissioning and demolition, MET can handle it for you. Services include:

• Live end caps for energized but unused medium voltage cable circuits
• Undressing and packing of large transformers, breakers and switches
• Disassembly of switchgear at shipping splits, and storage/packing of components
• Tracing and unlanding control, communications or other wiring
• Removal and/or plugging of conduits, cable trays or bus
